New Bride's Cooking WebSite Launches (LINK)

February 8th 2008 05:57
(OPENPRESS) February 5, 2008 -- Cookbook author, Nancy Geiger, announces the launch of her website, www.abridescookbook.com, which has the same name as her cookbook, ‘A Bride’s Cookbook or Surviving the First Year’.

“There was so much information, I didn’t have room for in my cookbook,” Geiger said, “that I decided to build a site around it. The site is really like an online cookbook, but much more.”

While the content isn’t the same as what’s in A Bride’s Cookbook, the topics covered are. Some of these include: meals for two, romantic dinners, entertaining easily and inexpensively, healthy eating, meal planning, stocking your cupboards, food safety and food storage.

“People today rush through meals or eat out to save time.” Geiger says, “Eating at home as a couple (and eventually a family) is a chance to relax and connect. To build bonds and share. When we don’t do this, families are fragmented, we don’t eat as healthy and we eat too much: too much sodium, too much fat and just plain too much food.”

Fast food, huge restaurant portions and eating on the fly have created a fat and unhealthy America, Geiger believes. Her website is meant to show not only brides, but anyone, how simple it is to plan and cook easy healthy meals and how much fun it is to entertain at home.

“I want this to be a helpful resource for people, just like my book.” Geiger said, “To have information all in one place that homemakers (whether a single person who lives alone, a new bride just learning to cook or a busy mom of a large family) can find fast. Like a calorie chart! I searched all over the internet for a simple chart that showed the calories of basic foods. I wanted something on one page I could see at a glance. And couldn’t find it. So I have one of those on my site.”
