Gifts of Love - for someone you don't even know

I know everyone has heard of Locks of Love - where you can donate hair for children with cancer or other hairloss diseases. Have you ever actually considered donating your hair?
My 15 year old son has been growing out his hair for a few years now. It was REALLY long. I'm not crazy about long hair on guys (at least not since I've grown up.) And, my husband, though he had long hair when he was younger, just really didn't like our son's hair. Mostly because he doesn't always keep it neatly combed, etc. So, at Christmas time, my husband asked our son what it would take to get him to cut his hair.
I truly expected him to say something like a new video game, or ask for a lot of money or something. He really couldn't come up with anything he wanted. I suggested that he donate his hair to Locks of Love. He really liked the idea. My husband offered to give him $100 to cut it short enough to donate it. (The donated ponytail must be at least 10 inches in length to be usable for a wig.)
His hair wasn't quite long enough - so we decided to wait a few more months and let it grow a couple more inches. Tonight, we cut off his hair, and prepared it to send in. He's not crazy about how short his hair is now, but he feels good about doing something good (and the $100 helps make it more worth it to him too!)
Now, if I can just get him to send the $100 in along with the hair donation - (wishful thinking, I'm sure!)
