According to theromantic.com, one of the LEAST romantic days of the year is Valentine's Day. Yes that's what they claim. They state that "the majority of men act like robots, purchasing flowers and chocolate for their sweethearts because that is what everyone else is doing. Many people celebrate the day out of obligation rather than celebration".

My Mother-in-Law Expects a Calendar

One year when my kids were really little, I had them draw pictures for each month of the year (four kids, three pictures each) and I made calendars for their grandparents. In each calendar, I included family birthdays, etc. I just printed it on my home computer, and stapled it together. My mother-in-law absolutely loved it, and has come to expect a calendar for Christmas each year

Handmade Gifts (LINK)

As I've said before, I am really big on making gifts for Christmas. So when I came across this website, I just had to share! (Better Homes and Gardens 16 Handmade Holiday Projects)

Because I just found this and haven't had a chance to try any of the projects, I don't have a photo for you. But, I assure you, I will be trying some of these projects. Some of them look very simple to make. Full instructions are included. Projects include several adorable holiday pillows, a hot pad, two custom advent calendars, a purse, towels, paper weights, and snow globes (absolutely gorgeous!). In addition, there are links to other features including homemade food gifts, handmade cards, and homemade decorations. I haven't had a chance to check all of those out yet
